Hyphen One & Daylow have everything needed to satisfy the musical cravings of the masses. They’re an 8 piece band; including front man eMCee Hyphen One, female vocalist Ruby, full horn section, and percussionist. They have a respectable and surprising resume of national acts, industry affiliations, and have performed at countless venues all over the East Coast.

In the summer of 2008, the band released their first independent full-length album Ill Regular mixed by Chris Badami (Crash Romeo, Dillinger Escape Plan) and mastered by Scott Hull (Steely Dan, Herbie Hancock, John Mayer, Ziggy Marley). With albums selling like hotcakes on I-tunes and CD baby, this group is on the rise - steadily touring, gaining fans, friends, exposure, and industry attention.

The Story:

Hyphen One & Daylow was formed in 2003 when Benjamin Earl (bass) and Steve Dans (drums) met Peter Tatum (vocals, keys) through a mutual friend. They began writing music and soon added Jake Nowak (guitar).

Performing a few shows in NJ and NYC, they continued to write and record through 2004. They released their first self produced 7 song EP entitled "Hyphen One & Daylow" on November 4th 2005. The album features vocalist Aqesha Ritzie on most tracks and percussionist Steve Honoshowsky on "Beechy Boom Boom Nay"

In 2006 Daylow added Matt Ryan (trombone), Shooby (sax), and Ruby (vocals). Playing gigs almost bi-monthly, they performed at new venues all over the tri-state area including Crash Mansion, Lions Den, Castaways, Ohm Lounge, Stanhope House, and Southpaw. Daylow also released the track "One Night Stand" on Hyphen Ones first solo album.

Daylow began to record their new album "Ill Regular" in mid 2006 while Ryan was attending WPU for an engineering degree. With the help of class mate Jay Lalumia they engineered 12 tracks for Daylow in the Willy P studio.

2007 was jam packed with gigs including great venues like Knitting Factory, Mexicali Blues, Murphy's Third Rail, and the infamous Yankees -vs- Redsox shows at The Dugout.

Daylow finished tracking "Ill Regular", and employed legendary engineer Chris Badami to mix and Scott Hull to master by the end of 2007. Two years in the making, Daylow released thier masterpiece "Ill Regular" on June 13th 2008! It features most of the current lineup, numerous guest musicians, and vocalist Eternia on "Blaba Zaba".

Soon after Ill Regular was mixed, percussionist Dave Deriso joined the band. In 2008 Daylow performed almost weekly with nearly 40 shows! Including Millenium Music Conference 12, American Music Fest, Evolve 2012, Maxwells, Dewey Beach Music Conference @ Bottle & Cork, Baker Theater, and The Bitter End!

In early 2009 Hyphen One & Daylow song "Break Spit Paint Spin" was placed 2nd on the MMC13 compilation CD, which was distributed to hundereds of radio stations and industry affiliates.

Now the most current line up is working on new material for their follow up release in mid 2009, which includes new fire tracks from Hyphen One, Ruby, and Jake all as lead vocalists! The first single "Smile" is a product of Grammy Nominated producer/engineer David Ivory and is expected to drop in the Fall of 2009.
